Do you Everts folks think I'd get an interview? 5000+ hrs, 2400 turbine (1250 of that PIC) and AK time...but, I haven't worked as a pilot for over 10 years. Love to get back to AK and flying but can't afford to work for nothin. Always wanted to fly a DC6 or a 9...

It has been done in the past but with less than great results. It's tough to jump straight into a simulator after that much time off and still meet the standards in the scheduled time.

Why did you stop flying ten years ago?

What have you done to get current/proficient since then?

Jim

Hi Jim, thanks for replying.
I haven't done anything to get current yet. I thought if I could get a provisional 'yes' from someone, I'd get on the Microsoft sim and then go to ATP's and do an IPC and maybe even their RJ training to get up to speed. I've had time off before and - not to big note myself - I've always had strong IF skills so it didn't take much to get back into it.
Why did I quit 10 years ago? Probably get writers cramp telling the whole story, suffice to say I didn't plan it that way...part of the story is I ended up owning a 10,000 acre ranch in Australia for the last 7.5 years; I've sold that now so am free to pick up my life where I last left it!

Default Plane off runway

So this is interesting: Incident: Everts MD82 at San Luis Potosi on Nov 2nd 2015, runway excursion on landing

Not sure I'd want to be working for this company. Who cares about paychecks showing up on time when stuff like this is taking place. I wonder what's going to happen to the crew?

Your point is? You posting to post or you have proven points regarding Everts' safety record?

If you don't want to work for an airline where a crew has been involved in an incident your career choices will be severely limited.

Yes... well I'm sure your carrier has cornered the market of incident free Aces of the base. And I'm sure your are carrier's poster child.

Happy flying
