There are 248 Vacancy slots for Captain between MEM, LAX, and ANC and a few slots in the Bus in HKG. Simply put, that's 248 'Primary' Captain seats to be filled from a standing start -- Ready, Set, Go! There's an open left seat, go get it! New seats, new slots, whatever you want to call it. According to the company, those 248 Primary Capt seats are new seats, ie... vacancies, due to growth, fleet status, duty time/flight time limits, retirements, etc...

When a bid is this big, it creates a huge training letter that stretches out for a couple of years and even though you might be awarded an MD11 MEM Capt slot on this bid, you may not be scheduled to go to training until Aug 2012. I poured coffee on the DC10 for 15 months before my MD training date...

It's only a domestic bid. 777 and 11 training letter end soon so they need a bid to open and close and get guys to class soon.... FDA Bid will follow.

Secondary vacancies (including HKG Airbus) will be evaluated at the close of the bid.

You're right, there are none posted in the chart but this statement was in the body of the FCIF.

Same old sh*t!!! Bid what you want to fly but they don't want to give you the big picture ??? Just meter it out to the HERD of sheep and they will end up where you want them to go at YOUR convience??? GEZZZ this cr*p gets really freakin old after awhile!!! But don't worry this pilot group will cowtow right up and fill all empty seats only to find out there is another bid for the FDA's which will be along shortly???? Doesn't anyone else here get tired of being manipulated like farm animals????
