Say That Again, you and I disagree on one small point. I don't believe BT "has learned from it". That makes it difficult for the membership or the company to "get past it and move on".

If he didn't as you allege, then I agree.

I've said it before, I'll say it again, and I am not trying to flame your post. The "announcement" (if that's what you like to call it) that we were going to attempt accretion of the FQS was made PRIOR to any official furloughs.

The furlough announcement had been made, but NO ONE was on the street yet. IMHO, they had no way to save face or NOT furlough once the FQS accretion was put into play. Diplomacy was not exhausted, it was thrown out in favor of bullying tactics.

An opinion, but once the furlough trigger was pulled (and remember that they were never REALLY going to furlough anyone) that was the time to announce the FQS accretion.

For those of you that feel that this train is coming off the tracks, make your voice heard to the rest of the board. In my opinion the one man show thing hasn't worked so well so far. Ask yourself the same questions that others have posted. Was there really just ONE person counting cards? And if so, what does that say?

BWTFDIK?

Not Much.

You may be correct Klinger but I seem to remember the threat of furloughs were first heard while BM was still in office as the company attempted to secure contractual concessions.

Just FYI, I can't find the reference any more. But it was stated on a FAQ webpage for the FQS that only one person in the IPA would have access to the cards to increase or maintain confidentiality.

Take that for what it is worth ...

That is understandable, but as we have witnessed, it had it's drawbacks too.
