What is up with UPS/IPA?
#1
I just read a message praising UPS for taking the initiative on safety and security issues and "leading" UPS/IPA efforts. While reading it I thought it must have been from Norm Black or some other UPS PA puppet, but it was signed by the IPA president. Why is he defending the company against the WSJ report? Why is he playing so nicely? There is something going on behind the scenes. I hope its good.

Reading his statement it would be to correct misinformation that was published by the media. Everything that has been published by the union and in face to face discussions between the Union leadership and the IPA membership has indicated that the company has been a full and willing partner in attempting to find a way to solve the problems. The WSJ article made it appear that the BAD old union had forced the company to do something it didn't want to do and was not required by regulation. My opinion is he just wanted any statements to be accurate .

BT has turned our union into a laughingstock. A big f'n joke. It used to be that our leaders word, no matter who it was, meant something. Now we get irresponsible shoot from the hip corrections and press statements that need to be reeled back in. Are we to believe that the wall street journal made that story up?

I don't trust our president anymore, guys. Just imagine if Miller had made these mistakes- the BnG crowd would be calling for his head.

Agree on the President making the IPA look silly.

Selling to their market would have been an article about them putting a beat down on us, not vice versa. Bt says the article was not sourced at the IPA. Where then? The problem with blowing your credibility is that past a certain point, no one believes anything . Like TN before him, BT has passed that point with me.
