With some of the majors and high paying cargos hiring again maybe the corporate strategy of "Just be happy to have a job" will finally go away.
I am sure then that all the HAPPY people who work at Atlas and all those who wish to work at Atlas, will be happy that you will not be in the mix at Atlas.

I would love to be happy at Atlas - although I heard you really need an internal rec to get past the initial filter.

Any previous C-17 drivers working there that could PM me some info??

Thanks!

I can echo that a 4 yr FO can make that much. $165k but that is definetly with OT. The average month is 105 trip pay. You can always go for time off as well. Nice being able to have a choice what you want to do that month.

SWA pays per trip, not per hour but if you convert the trips to an hourly wage it comes to about $115/hour for a 4-year FO. So, if your friend is making $14K/month then he's working what equates to around 120 hours a month. That's serious overtime. I believe SWA's guarantee is equivalent to 78-79 hours/month. So, either he's working the system big time or else he has exaggerated his monthly income. At $14K/month without OT, that comes to $168K a year. I don't know any airline that pays FO's that well.
If he was to max out at 100 hours a month, he would only be bringing in $11,500 at current 4th year pay.

What do you classify as initial filter?

If your talking the very first contact that an Atlas H.R. rep has with you in the form of the phone screen, which after you pass leads to the link for the online tech assessment/NHPS form, which leads to the call for an interview in Miami, that would NOT be correct.

Plenty of dudes made it past that initial filter (if that's what you meant) and went on to be hired without knowing anybody. Also, there's guys that have internal recs and can't even get a call, as evidenced by the other thread in the hiring section.

Climb350, is a subscription based site; that rewards job posts, with free months subscriptions. I've found many of the job posts to be out of date, already filled or just plain bogus (Southern Air, Inc was furloughing in '09 and someone was posting on climg350 that they were hiring).

But, I guess that depends on your definition of an "airline".

I heard a rumor that the new contract might not be for another year now....due to the arbitrators health condition? Has anyone heard that?

He's joking that FedEx is (sometimes? rarely?) referred to as not a "real" airline, especially when compared to pax carriers.

But pay-wise, it is most definitely a "real" airline.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled Atlas thread.

Good luck guys - arbitration seems to be feast or famine. Hoping the Atlas boys get a good break.

You don't need an internal rec. Decent total time with good jet PIC time seems to be the key now... perhaps LCA experience is good too. I've got a friend with around 4500 TT and 2000+ jet PIC that is an LCA at a regional that has recently made it through the online test.
