Default FDX Bid Advice

I know all you experts out there know the answer to this one. As a new hire, what aircraft would you bid to get the best quality of life? The 757, or the Airbus. I thank you in advance.

Personally, if I was going to be at the bottom of the list, I'd rather be getting wide-body pay.

If you are a new hire, then you had some good recs to get you here.

Ask those guys. They can give you better and more in-depth info than a bunch of yahoos on a message board (myself included).

I'd say go with HKG FO.

Interesting what CX guys talk about...

Year 1 you will be junior in both, so the Airbus pay would be better. After year one and from then on your QOL will be much better on the 757. You won't have widebody pay, but you have to decide what you want. If you don't live in MEM, sitting reserve sucks, IMO.

Welcome to the party, jetstar! Have you thought about ANC? PM me if you have any questions.

Year 1 pay is about the same; big difference w year 2.

How long do you want to stay very junior?

If commuting, seniority will mean more than paycheck. In general, once you go to a widebody, your progression up the ladder slows down or even stagnates. Probably gain more seniority on the 757, especially as we grow the fleet in the next 3 yrs. Being jr and commuting to ANC can be tough. There are openings in HKG and CGN, depends on the family situation. Good luck, welcome to FDX !!

Look at the bid packs and decide which trips look worse. Choose other plane.

The BidX software is a nice tool to determine what kind of life you would have in the various airplanes/domiciles. Once you purchase it, you can download as many bidpacks as you want and it allows you to show only lines your seniority would allow you to hold.
