I'm tired of you guys bad mouthing the captains in general. I was an F/O when we got the last contract and was ready to get fired in ANC when we walked. Also, held the line as a S/O when we were ALPA the first time.
Quit being general in your remarks. There are alot of captains that held strong also.
I guess it never occured to you that they might not have been as short in the left seat as they were in the the Gods Of Unionism right seat.

It's just my opinion and I've been wrong before.

Look we have a TA (it will more than likely pass). It is what it is!
The LACK of "Individual Resolve" wasn't only in the Left seat. There is plenty of Blame to go around. Maybe there was less in one group than the other, who really knows unless you have access to "secure" Data.
For all of you who did the right thing, you can look yourself in the mirror and be proud. You can't put a price on dignity.
All you younger ones (or more appropriately Junior ones), please learn from this.
Next time it will be your turn in the left seat. Lead by example.
It's done lets move on.

They should know........obviously they weren't personally willing to do what it would have taken, i,e, The weren't willing to fight for anything better.

This thread is growing stale. If you haven't read the TA by now, shame on you, its out there to be seen. If you feel it could have been better, get on line with the rest of the whiners and sign up for the next negotiating committee
If you haven't voted, DO SO.
Assuming it is ratified, do your part to live up to its terms and make sure the company does the same.
Get on with life, kiss the dog, pat the wife!

Yes, and no. If the TA passes and we leave Status Quo we will need to have some sort of after action report and see what we did good as well as bad. Part of the bad is "educating" those independent contractors that flew draft and OT this last spring and summer about unity and resolve. That may include getting into a few mugs when the time is right so they know there is no free ride for bad behavior. I know of quite a few I will be speaking with using all the candor I can without getting fired. Also, anyone who speaks with a non member now out of the context of training or in the cockpit needs to be educated as well. The time for treating these pickpockets and thieves like peers is long past, especially when they cash their bonus checks and don't pay dues! IMHO anyway.
