Ranger, you are so on target. Some of us have been exerting professional peer pressure from the time we stepped on the property. I also would avoid AOC so as not to get my blood pressure up looking at the scumbag non-members and dues paying pretenders strut around.

That time has passed. FreightDawgyDog is right. There is no excuse...NONE to be a non member. If they don't use the bonus to pay up into good standing, then the rest of us should take the peer pressure to the next evolution.

I am sick and tired of non-members and scabs getting a free pass. Our pilot group should be very pi$$ed that the non-members are going to spend that bonus just like you. They fed off you by flying VLT,DFT while you got BLG. And they don't suffer any consequence.

For a guy who ain't been around...what specifically do you recommend? I'm not going to write graffitti in the bathroom (seen that sophmoric BS), punch someone (ain't getting fired...), or defacing someone's lockers or personal possessions (cowards). I'm not really into peer counseling as my block is pretty much all members...

So...(no sarcasm implied)...what do you say or do (or not say or do...) around non-members? There ARE several non member 727 captains--not many but a couple...

You say nothing to them outside of professional contact. The time has come for us to stop giving them a forum for trying to talk away their selfish and greedy ways. If you see someone else treating them differently, you remind them that the person they are treating as a peer is picking his pocket as they speak. You remind them that those with true differences with ALPA can always pay their part anyway by being on dues check off. You remind them that the thief in front of them just received all the benefits of the contract we signed (if it passes), including the bonus, while essentially working against us. If they choose to keep the conversation with the freeloader going, it is their choice. Either way, you walk away without addressing the non member being spoken to. Don't even give the worthless SOB a cursory glance. He/she doesn't deserve it. If we all do that every time one of these thieves walks into Ops I bet it would make a difference to enough of them to matter. Again, one man's humble opinion.

YGTBSM? It never ceases to amaze me how self-proclaimed "Intelligent" people can be taken advantage of time after time. All FedEx pilots need to read the FedEx Purple Promise history posted on the ALPA website. Counting cash layouts, FedEx netted almost $5B last year, executive "bonuses", not salaries, exceded the entire pilot work force's salary. And, you voted yes to: 18% pay raise over 6.5 years, work rules that start 3+ years after the amendable date, a "signing bonus" equal to 55% of what you have lost since the amendable date (9% yr one, 3% yr two, payble at the 2.5 yr and 3.5 yr point), you lose 1 vacation day for every 14 days you have (do the math @ 6 hrs/dy vac credit and 6.4 hr/day trip drop). A 1% increase to your industry lowest B-fund (starts @ the 3.5 yr point past the amendable date), jeez I could go on. The Wall Street Journal said it all: FDX 2007 projected earnings per diluted share are $7.45, impact of the TA for FY2007 per diluted share $0.30. I am glad to be at FedEx, we have the best contract (after industry sodimization), our profits are 3 times + that of the most ever recorded by an airline.......and at the end of this TA, Nov 2010, an Airbus 380 15 yr captain will make the same as a 1997 United 747 Capt during the ESOP, not Contract 2000 (i.e. 25% pay cut). Like I said, YGTBSM?

If you're unhappy, vote no. If you are at FedEx, then why did you call it "your B-fund" and not OUR B-fund. You sound a lot like Mach84 or some other complainer that has been ignored. You obviously don't understand how to bid vacation. You only loose if you bid high paying TAFB lines that pay rig. You would probably complain about winning the lottery because you would have to pay the taxes.

OK, MY 6% B fund that increases a whopping 1 % over a year from now (i.e. 42 months After the amendable date). You got me on that one. I do know how to bid vacation....expand reserve days, seek out n backs, hub turns, blah blah blah, you got me on that one also, there is a work around requiring me compensating for the problem, trust me, our vacation system is the best, just pointing out a fact. Nice try at the slam, NO I would not ***** about paying taxes. OK, I think I covered your replies. NOW grow a set of brain cells and debate the other FACTS. Best case, and we both know it will not happen, this contact will cover from May 04 until Nov 10 (6.5 years). Most likely it will be two years plus again before the next contract is settled because the draft, vacation selling, open time pick up'n, SCABS-in-waiting will once again fail to see the obvious. So, lets hear your reply to the less than inflationary 18% pay increase over best case 6.5 years or any of the other points brought out. You must be an international guy (25% of the senior FedEx pilots) who make out on this contract. Standard ALPA contract screw the JR. guys. I would take a bet that you also approve of the 757 being paid the same as the aircraft that operates with 33% more pilots, carries 40% less payload (727 12 cans, 757 18.5 cans with 3.5 cans underneath), and grosses out 37% heavier than the 727. Once again , the JR guys bear the brunt so the SR guys can make more, ALPA standard. You should be proud that you are the only airline in history to pay the 757 and 727 the same, you should be proud indeed. And yes I voted no, thats my right. I contribute more to FedEx than a cost of living raise. Thats my opinion, you obviously think less of yourself.

The night flying here at FedEx can suck when you have to do it, but the place is great compared to the disfunctional attitude rampant at UAL. How could a pilot group vote 70%+ to get rid of the A fund is beyond me. That vote saved UAL $140M per year when it was losing 400M+ per quarter. I hope you guys get the pay and work rules back but it would have never happened in my lifetime. ALPA's mis information and lies during the last vote was a shocker, especially by the DEN LEC Chairman.

Glad to have a steady job for now (albeit pouring coffee)".

You cant have it both ways Biatch. You probably voted against United's contract 2000. You are incredibly lucky to have landed on your feet at Fedex. There are few who have legitimate gripes....you're way to new to open your pie hole.
