FedEx 757's

Mawk90....
There is something to be said for bidding res and staying home (if you live in sdf). But due to our one pay scale, the 757 is the nicest ride here that you can get and still stay domestic. Just like your bus is very senior (from what I've been told), you can stay domestic and get the bucks unless you bid the siba. When I'm talking seniority, I'm talking about percentage where I would be on all the fleets. As a domestic guy, I would be better off in the left seat of anything else here.

"That's an interesting question to ponder. How many 727 Capt's will make a lateral move for the same money?
Furthermore, how many senior W/B f/o's will move to the 757 when W/B capt is just around the corner?"
Another concern is, how many wide body captains will bid the 757. Said pilot could be very senior in a very nice airplane with similar technology and routes as the Airbus. Narrow body pay in 2 years will be about the same as wide body pay is now. I for one will consider it.

Appreciate your info....very insightful. We'll just wait and see how it pans out I guess. One thing for sure, the 75 will be the prettiest jet we own.

Oh, ya! The DC-8 approaches like an airplane is supposed to approach. Nose low with a very determined look on her face.
Anything with leading edge devices sticks it's nose up in the air like an arrogant pain in......

With this news of 757's entering the fleet, was there any talk of where the pay for such an aircraft would fall. Should be between the 727 and the widebody's right?
This would mean that most newhires would find themselves on the 757 as an F.O. right or does anyone think they would go widebody F.E.?
As long as I am thinking about it, I always wondered if any one over there at Fed Ex wished they had taken a different route in their career. I don't mean the path on the way to Fed Ex but the final out come ( Fractionals or some other corporate jobs they may have passed up) .You never here anyone say anything like this so I have been wondering.

As with anything around here, when it's orange and purple and on the ramp, then we'll see it.
