Sounds like your FE-W should be dated within the previous 18 months when you show up for Day 1 of B.I. They are also allowing interviewees to submit the application without actually having the FE-w completed. Similar to how Southwest interviews pilots without having a 737 Type. Pilots chosen for the interview will be expected to show up with the rating or written in the case of FedEx.

Allows for a larger pool of prospective pilots to chose from and will be easy to remove the requirement when the 727 goes away.

I'm doing my app very soon. Is there a portion in the app to submit internal recs? Will I need his employee #? Thank you!

FE-w is good for 24 months. If you show up in class with 6 months remaining it
gives you a little extra time to complete training in case of unforeseen events.

Opinion Only....

It says that if you get a hired and you are going to be placed in the FE seat on the 727 you'll have to get the FE written.

Let me calm your fears. Get the online course from Shepard aviation do what they say. Spend about 5 hours doing the course take your FE written get a 90% or so and your golden it's that simple.

Yes, Last page. You will need last name and employee number. If you have a friend or a few friends doing rec letters, they will need your username to go to their internal company website on pilot.fedex.com and submit a rec in your name.

Hope this helps.

Default Instructor Hours

Time for you to give your two cents. A friend of mine and I are filling out our FedEx Applications. Yes we did pay the money. Regarding the Instructor Hours box that appears on each row of aircraft that you have driven. I think that it is for hours that I have acted as the instructor. He feels that it is for the hours that you have received instruction since the hours that you instructed would show up under the PIC field. Thoughts?

Thanks!

Instructor hours are when you gave instruction. They will normally be different than PIC hours since you haven't given instruction every time you went flying as a PIC.

Does T-34C/T-6A time count towards the 1500/1000 hour requirement, or must it be straight jet if it's single engine?
