Yes it was! And if it weren't for that income, FedEx probably wouldn't have made it through the last quarter. Not to mention the purchase of all those shinny new Triple Sevens. If you were one of the guys who "paid" that $75, all I can say is "Thanks!"

Seriously, none of the pilots at FedEx like the idea of our company charging an application fee, however, most recognize that there is an inherent cost to the process of bringing a new-hire on board, and therefore understand that, especially in today's market, said fee is a cost of doing business, both for the company as well as the pilot applicant. To understand the value of that "fee", just ask any of the guys who have been hired in the past few months. I'd bet that they think it was the best $75 they ever spent.

The $75 is a nice tool that helps eliminate that kid with 100 hours from applying. If you are really interested the roi on that $75 is huge

Now about the time on the aircraft :
If there was anything I can FO about that 1000 hrs of pic tprop or jet time.

It must be "straight jet."

F-16, T-45, etc.

Ahh crap. Well unless I can count stud time towards the 1500 turbo-multi/jet... then I'm short. 1000 PIC is in the bag at least.

Well, in the past it was true, and I was one of those guys that applied before I had the mins.

But now, it just weeds out the SUPER cheap pilots with the qualifications.
If you get an interview you'll spend WAY more than that, assuming one buys a new suit, polishes their shoes and gets a haircut. Being professional is so expensive!

For those of you who already have a profile, you might want to check the questionare section of your application. They've added a few new questions. When I checked my application today, the questionare section had the red incomplete check next to it.
Good luck!
I guess 7000 TT, 3500 PIC Turbine CIVILIAN is not good enough.

I would still include all my instructor hours in my PIC total, since they are PIC hours.

The instructor hours block is just breaking out what portion of your PIC time was gained in an instructor role. Unless there are specific instructions to do so, I wouldn't count on their system to somehow "include" those instructor hours in your PIC total if you haven't.

"Straight" jet? As opposed to "gay" jet?
