Like MD11Fr8Dog says, you only need one Airport Express to accomplish what was discussed above. It will work with any wifi router, though for optimal results make sure your router is a -n model, as opposed to -b or -g. You'll get faster data rates and greater range.

The cheapest solution? Step away from the $300 Slingbox and their $30 per support call service charge, and get a HD Vulkano Flow. I can't tell you how frustrated I've been over the years after having to replace one Slingbox that burned out, and having the second one needing to be reset after a power outage. Here's a sample of the issues people are having with their Slingboxes: Slingbox Answers Forum: Community: Slingbox PRO
I've had the Vulkano Flow for about a month now, comes with a wireless capability built in, their technical support has been awesome, and best of all, only costs about $99 on-line. You can control your DVR with it, and it's built in channel guide is much better than the Slingbox. The only down side is the lower priced Vulkano Flow will not connect to your cable box with a HDMI cable, but with the blue/green/red component cable. Here's a link. VULKANO FLOW

Never heard of the vulkano but it sounds like good old fashioned capitalist competition which is a good thing in my book! I really like the idea of built-in wireless and will check out the link.
There are other threads on APC that further discuss the great utility of the Apple Airport Express both at home and on the road. Before a trip, the Express is the next thing that gets checked in my backpack after my passport...

Vulkano-
Use caution. I was having trouble with my Slingbox and I thought it had finally met its maker as it is getting old, so decided to try the Vulkano Flow. I checked the website and it said it would work with my Mac on OS/X. So i get the thing and set it up and of course it does not work. I call "tech support" and speak to someone in India whom I can barely understand. He tries a bunch of stuff all the while telling me it should work if it is wired properly as it is very simple. Yeah no kidding! Anyway, took two calls totaling over 2 hours on the phone with these clowns and they decide that it is my OS. THey tell me it requires 10.6 or better. Well I have 10.5 which is considered OS/X. They tell me I should upgrade my OS and tell me I am stupid if I dont. BS....I will send the unit back and you can refund me.
I call customer service and ask them to pay for the return shipping as it seems the website has incorrect information on it. No way they say. Ok, may I speak with a supervisor. When he finally gets on the phone, he tells me I AM stupid for not upgrading my OS and they will not pay for return shipping. Fine, I will use my fedex discount and it costs 7 bucks.
So I send the thing back and the next day I get an email telling me to keep the unit and they will call me to troubleshoot. Apparently everyone I talked to was wrong and the unit WILL work with 10.5. Well....too little too late! I email them back and tell them the unit is already on the way and to refund my charges and I proceed to indicate the substandard tech support and customer service that I experienced. I copied every executive I could find on the email. No response as of yet.
My issue it not the unit itself, but the support (or lack thereof) that comes with it. The thing may work great, I dont really know as I never got it to work because of the terrible tech support.
As I said...use caution.

I know SlingBox relies on upload speed for decent quality. 1Mbps was so-so, with lots of compression artifacts. 5Mbps is a significant improvement.
Slingbox's Mac support is weak, but their iPad app is the cat's pajamas.
I presume that Vulkano has similar requirements.
(I should note that I've never tried the SlingPlayer outside the US.)
