Will you clarify that? Do you go to a local hospital for the drug test then come to class and get a medical on the first day? Are they still doing the medicals or now just the local drug screen? Just curious about the change in SOP.

You must mean medical coverage.

For clarification, you are saying that new hires get per diem while in new hire training for that first 6 weeks or so?

767 pilot.

In the past, the new hire per diem was slightly lower than the line crew rate.

I am not sure what it is right now.

I can't remember what the amount was, but it was 24/7 from day 1 until your line check or end of IOE. Helped to take some of the sting out of 1st year pay...

Definitely...that's why you want to be in training as long as possible.

Only seniority is determined by age. The company can assign any newbie to any open seat. For the first time at UPS, new hires are being assigned to the right seat of the MD11. In the latest class, three 727 FEs were pulled out of BI early to start MD11 FO school. They were chosen based upon their previous experience (heavy, FMS, international, etc). However the student I'm training now came from a legacy and only has domestic 73 right seat time, no FMS or international time (he's doing quite well in school ). Apparently they will finish Basic Indoc after done with the sim in Long Beach.
