You have to remember, this is FedEx. Rumor of a bid in April=possible bid in June. Training delays will kick start training dates to around October. First guys ready to fly around January, 2013. Still seems a little strange to have a bid when we have over 200 folks already holding a 767 type rating from FedEx Training who could just get some differences training and a couple of IOE rides.

Had another MX jumpseater out of LAX on the new aircraft acceptance team who was at Boeing last week. Said 30 firm new 767s with options for 50+ 767 BCFs. Announcement in Dec or early Jan. :-)

Wonder if they are -300s or -400s and which cockpit do they install...767-400, 787, 777 or the 757 IS&S?
I'm hearing separate bid 757 and 767 bic packs?

I get the whole "not until they're painted purple on the ramp" thing, but that seems like a pretty credible rumor source. Is there any other data out there to back this up? A 30 aircraft purchase is kind of a big deal.

I can confirm, and this is 100% for sure, that FDX will possibly be getting 767s.
