Really? Sorry, but either they are full of %$#@#$ or their business model of owning/operating their own airline is about to change. My guess is they are headed they way of DHL which doesn't operate/own a single airplane. Industry leading scope. Ya, right - sounds like it may be put to the test. I hope I'm wrong........
Unfortunatly this all started with our pitbull president trying to take on 800 lbs gorrilla and he got his a... handed to em then he bailed and we end up holding the empty sac. Ups learned we are weak and the ipa continues to blow sunshine up our collective a..es and leading the membership to believe this battle is leaning to our favor. What a joke
We just voted in two new guys and evevryone seems to think ups is gonna hold hands with us and play nice, YGBFKM
Mr. EB why don't you tell us what is really going on? Oh wait this must be one of those behind the seen secrets that we can not know and as usual just be patient and report management flying and trust your EB.
Hey TK make sure next time you see Davis in one of those stockholder meetings shake his hand again and thank him for the good job he's doing.

I don't think that will be the case.

Why? Because if they could do it that way, they probably already would have.

I've said it here before, UPS is following the exact same plays that they did with our mechanics.

The exact same. If you're not friends with a mechanic, become one. They will tell you how our contract negoiation will go during the next 4 years.

This RDG/VL part 2 serves two purposes for UPS:

1) They're trying to make us loses our faith in our EB.

2) They're trying to break our solidarity policy of no OT, no JA.

Watch how some senior guys will suggest some modification to this solidarity policy. Maybe for our junior guys. Of course, they're itching to hit the trough too.

FWIW

I totally agree. This is just another example of UPS Airlines trying to staff us at an airline level. Until every reserve in every seat at UPS is flying 15 out of 15 days, we will be "overstaffed". Do more with less, the good days of doing nothing on reserve are over. On another tangent, do we have 7 767's coming next year, or did we defer deliveries?

I keep hearing from non- airgroup sources, that we are getting 777s.

It seems that the USAF wants our 767 slots for their tankers. The USAF contract is lucrative, so Boeing is offering discounts on 777 freighters. It does seem to me that we are behind on 76 deliveries, so who knows?

Please take this rumor as with all others, with a grain of salt.

The EB is selling us a polished turd, plain and simple. Regardless don't question the EB, they are looking out for us, just ask them. The furloughees are screwed by this deal.
