Ahh, everyone coming out of the 757 schoolhouse has a B757/767 type already.

Let's get the unsubstantiated and unfounded rumors out there quickly to prevent a maximum influx of senior guys into the 757/767.
1. I heard from a guy mopping the bathroom floor in the AOC that to simplify pay issues, all 757/767 pay will stay at a narrowbody rate. It's just easier that way.
2. Since the 757/767 community now has two same but different airframes, the school house is going to try to outdo the MD-11/MD-10 schoolhouse for length of training and number of events. It will be a "lather, rinse, repeat" philosophy where first you get checked out in the 75 and then repeat the whole program in the 76. Count on 6 months. Heard that one from one of the jumpseat security guards.

Edited to add that now that there is a slowdown in increasing 777 numbers, that aircraft will remain the elite of the elite for even longer. How cool is that!? Obviously, the 777 is where a senior guy would want to be for the forseeable future.

Talked to an MD FO the other day. He'd come back after 1.5 years on the 777. Said all senior guys weren't all that much fun, and they are all wearing skirts trying to mgmt guys.

It's refreshing to learn that not everyone generalizes when talking about a large group. And just remember, it takes two to tango. Perhaps it's your friend, not "all senior guys", who is the problem, with the exception of wearing those skirts, of course. Besides, it might be the new dress code on the Triple 7. That in lieu of a pay rate.

I doubt it. A majority of the "$ hitbirds" went to the 777
I'm surprised an FCIF hasn't gone out stating that fact

Sounds to me like there's at least one "$ hitbird" left on the MD.

FAA has already said NO to common type w/ 777 as flight characteristics are different.

There should be a few differences sims /FTDs and some LMS lessons to be qualified on the new cockpit.

MD11 and DC10 are both hydraulically operated flight controls.

B777 - fly by wire,
B757/767 - not so much...

Yes, but the original reason was "different flight characteristics"...MD and DC have quite different characteristics no matter how the controls are actuated.
