It is easy to spot them on layovers. Look for a brown leather jacket, jeans and tennis shoes. The whining noise that doesn't stop when the engines spool down is a good clue also.

You can order a new trench coat now in the 5 year replacement cycle in order to make a donation to Goodwill.

You, sir, must be in UPS labor to even think that the company treats us well. Or, you're ACP Hemko. Who is the only ACP that is delusional enough to think that line guys have things too good or that there is no such thing as a fatiguing pairing. All the other ACPs that don't support line guys know that they've sold their soul (Gummer).

At least I have a job, and it pays good, that's about it. FWIW
Actually you did compare them to Nazis.

I can see that you fear a management stooge behind every tree and can't even begin to believe there are happy campers in the "forced labor" camp.
Sorry you are not happy.

We can, of course, never have things "too good". That would be impossible anywhere.
If you want to see yourself as one of Pavlov's experiments, that is ok, but there are happy dogs all around you getting all the food and water they need with no pain and little effort. They really don't need the lab techs to offer an encouraging word or a pat on the head.

Have a nice day.

Hey, what's wrong with that outfit? I try to pack in my tux, but it takes up too much space.

Making a fashion statement on a layover is very low priority ...

I have NEVER seen one pilot here wear a UPS ballcap, tee shirt, or any other company identifying item when they are not working. Never. It's a job. It pays the bills. It is what it is.
They pay fairly well because the IPA has gotten it , not because they want too.

I have never seen anyone wear a UPS article on time off in 23 years.

Regardless of what you do or how well you do it you are always just Labor and not really part of the team of partners.
Every manager used to have a framed saying about how they where all partners in the company and they went out of their way to let you know that you were not one of them, a stock holder.

The funny part about how UPS works is the way "managers" (NURP's) benefit from the union. I remember hearing some of them argue (when I got furloughed) about what the union has done wrong etc. All the while we have made huge improvements (TCAS, EVAS, Full Face O2, etc). UPS would have NEVER complied with these things if it were not for the Union. iPads? Unless the Union gets them UPS will NEVER spend the money even if it saves money!! Don't kid yourself. If it were not for the IPA you would sleep at a cheap hotels and eat ham sandwiches (if you even got catering!)
NURP pay rates? Look at what a Capt makes and draw you own conclusion!!

Oh BTW. I believe these guys are in for a rude awakening. Friend of mine in the Training Center tells me that T.N and "Knee Cap" has hired an outside "efficiency" group to look at the FQS "system". I hear there will be more than a few that wished they had signed their cards.

I guess we will see how these guys feel when they get fired or piled with more and more work till they break! We'll see who laughs last!

I don't think anyone will feel sorry for the NURPS if they get canned by ups. They made their bed and quite honestly I hope they get fired, in particular those who were IPA at one time.

These are the ones that won't be fired due to their inherent divisiveness.

I did a poor job of making my point. I believe the NURP's feel that the company has their back. Remember this was the last job I would ever have!!! Wish I had recorded that one!! There are more than a few people in SDF that will be replaced by ground instructors. Too much inefficiencies in the current system. Displace an IPA member so these guys can fly for proficiency. Are you kidding. No amount of flying will make some of them proficient!!

I don't like to see anyone lose their job, but these guys are doing our job. Everyone see's it. Management? What do you manage? You are simply a Non-Union-Replacement-Pilots. Plain and simple!!

Looks like there could be a big hiring wave soon so maybe they can get a job somewhere else and put their skills to work. The level of arrogance is what is truly amazing. This mostly comes from former IPA members. Amazing!

Pardon the uneducated question, but why would a former IPA member want to turn in their union card and move over to FQS?
