Yes. Calls went out last week for Feb and March initial testing.

What are the chances that someone without a sponsor or internal recs will get a call? I'm assuming almost none, but hopeful it's not.

Last year they called guys with MD-11 time without any sponsor/recs.
Who knows if they'll do it with others but as it has been said on here: You can't win the lottery without playing!

Track down the hiring folks at job fairs: WIA, OBAP, etc. You never know what might work. Good luck.

I talked to them at OBAP in August and I'm planning on going to WIA in March. I'll keep plugging away at it. Thanks!

How would that be trolling? I support both groups and their causes and they both host job fairs. I'm afraid I don't follow.

Hey everyone! How up to date is the gouge on here and do you recommend anything else to better my chances of being considered? All I have is KC135 time (I have the other mins: FE, ATP, etc...). As crappy as it sounds, would anyone recommend going with a lesser company just to get an MD80 rating?

Also, I'm curious about the background experience and time of others that have been hired. And what is the range of time spent in the pool waiting for a class date? On that note, how long have people waited to be called for an interview after they applied?

I really appreciate any pointers. Thanks a bunch for your time...

I beleive your app will score higher with type ratings but I'm not sure if it's any type rating or a type that would apply to the current fleet. Although not required, a sponsor would most likely be the best way to better your chances.

It took about 7 months from initial application to call for interview for me. YMMV.

It seems time in the pool varies. If you volunteer for a FDA, your pool time will be significantly less. I'm about to enter month six in the pool and others have been in longer. It seems to be a mix of backgrounds (military/civi). I'm a regional guy w/8600 TT/4200PIC. Good luck!

Thanks, stkshkr...

How was the gouge on this site? Anything else you recommend?

Congrats on entering the pool! Hopefully you aren't treading water for too longer...
