Under JUP's avatar, his position is listed as "furloughed"... it wasn't exactly a secret.
I may be wrong, but I suspect you are one of the nurps who voted in favor of integration. If 50% + 1 of you guys thought the same as you posted in your response, we would not be having this discussion - unfortunately for all involved, especially our furloughed folks.

The IPA has to remember when they point their finger at UPS for this structure, three fingers are pointing back at themselves.

Not sure how long you have been at UPS, but I will tell you that we had a management pilot who was fired for trying to organize into the IPA. Guess who was on the company side? The IPA president. There is a letter sent by BM to the NMB that reaffirmed the management structure. The IPA has had their chance to address the structure but instead, they punted.

Unionizing this function is a waste of time at UPS, it was lost day one in nineteen eighty-eight.

You may be right, but that is in the past and it's time to move forward. Those of us that have not been here for 20+ years want things changed. For years and years everyone looked the other way because they really had no affect on the membership. Things have now changed and the FQS structure has had a direct negative affect on the IPA. When you furlough pilots then turn around and hire FQS, one of which was himself furloughed, you are going to show just what your motives are. UPS wants and has a super non-union reserve force. They have a bunch of pilots that will do what they say, when they say without any questions asked. I can tell you right now, I will never vote yes on any contract that allows the current FQS system to exist!

You can choose not to vote for a contract that allows this to continue and you will be just like the No voters on the last contract. Enough of your peers will be bought for the contract to pass just as they where the last time. They got a bonus to vote yes instead of a retro check so they took it.

I am truly sorry to hear what you are going through. I didn't realize that you were one of the furlough victims. Regardless of where the finger is pointed, the furlough was inexcusable - and will haunt UPS for decades. I don't expect you to believe this, but I (personally) don't know of a single FQS that believes the furlough was a good idea.
You and I may not agree on when change will occur, how change will occur, or what will precipitate change - but I do agree that the pendulum will eventually center itself, and UPS will settle into a more traditional airline model.
I really hope to see you back in a UPS plane very soon.

You do make a nice reply, and I hope you are sincere. But lip service is easy on an anonymous public forum. I'm curious though, have you or any of the other FQS' reached out to a furloughed pilot to see how he/she is doing? Have any of you donated to the furloughed pilot fund?

I doubt it. I've actually heard some captains say the furloughees got what they deserved for voting in the contract. Guess they don't understand the bottom 328 didn't even vote.
