Currently the line at the training centers are getting long due to a few equipment and displacement bids that have occurred.

The open time ban has been lifted by the union based on the costs associated with the ban to the company. It had reached the point where the pilots at UPS where actually saving the company money by not picking up open time or accepting JA. The union currently retains the right to implement the ban again at any time. They notify the membership after the bid packages are distributed and prior to the bid closing . The company has to decide how they build the bids without any certainty on how the union will respond. This in no way indicates that we have or will abandon the pilots who are laid off.

I don't care what the current powers to be say, I personally couldn't look myself in the mirror and pick up open time with guys on the street. As far as the line at the training center...........I gonna call total BS on that. The training bid that just closed has guys starting training at the beginning of August. Doesn't sound like a very long line to me. At best recalls are done.

Ok, let me guess the month before peak to after peak, no open time pick-up. Big surprise there, way to catch the company off guard. Oh BTW they have the right to use the Managers as they see fit during the same period and they are not limited to MEF. I trust that the EB is doing the right thing but I feel for my brothers and sisters that are sitting at home just like me wishing that they could fly again for big brown.

You need to explain the above quoted statement to me. How does giving the green light to pickup open time (basically work overtime) keep more people on property? UPS has the same number of pilots flying more block hours.
But, it does keep the Hogs who feed at the open time trough happy.
Remember the union election is just around the corner and furloughed members can't vote but the Hogs can.
