In the world of business where:

How much more revenue does the 767 generate each flight?

The common type is a savings on the training/cost side of the equation.

Thus, we should certainly expect a higher payrate.

Your right widebody pay but how will lines work, same bid pac as 757 etc? Will the lines be pure 76 or a mix of both or will your line have both 75 & 76 trips. What would rsv pay narrow or wide etc. The devil is in the details which effects pay.

Default Common 757/767 bidpack

The word from "reliable sources" is that the company wants a single 757/767 type rating and bidpack to allow maximum flexibility. They want trips to include operate the 767 to Europe, 757 within Europe, and 767 back to US. They will offer a single wide body pay rate across the board for all aircraft. The only question mark is the 727 which will either be exempt or paid until it goes away in FY 2015. These "reliable resources" are in the know about these things. But then again so was the Paris domicile.

Depends on what we have to give up to get it! Vacation , go to 65 etc
You really think they would give us anything like that for nothing?

Agree --- changing vacation or going to 65 to get full retirement are "deal breakers" for me.

But, if we "give them" the flexibility to have the 757/767 lines in one bidpack --- with the reduced need for only one set of reserves --- we are in fact giving them something for the consolidated WB rate for both jets.

A reduction in reserve requirements clearly equals a reduction in overall manning, which reduces their overall fixed costs.

IMHO, this is the type of cost efficiency we should welcome --- where all of the players in the company (mgmt & pilots) should be able to benefit.

Sounds like if this were to occur once the 727s went away the entire pilot group would be on a single wide body rate. True, or is there something else I'm missing?
