Default FDX - Deadhead to SYD

I have a deviation deadhead to SYD. Does anyone have any info on how to get from the airport to Harbor Marriott? I will also deadhead out from the hotel to airport the the following day. Any advice or gouge would be appreciated.

Ummm....what?

By deadhead from the hotel to the airport do you mean take the scheduled transpo? Just show up on time and it will be there. That assumes you are operating a live leg out of SYD.

Or are you also deviating on a DH out of Sydney? If so, just skip SYD and go straight to your first live leg city.

As far as transpo for the inbound DH, my first shot is to call the company listed on the pairing for the scheduled transpo. They know us, they know the hotel, and they are almost always flexible.

The transpo company in SYD will charge 100$AUS for a trip to the hotel. A taxi about half that. There is a train to Circular Quay station two blocks from the hotel for i think about 12$. Easy and cheap.

It sounds like boxhauler has good info.

I took my family to SYD on vacation several years ago. I seem to recall a bus that ran to/from the airport and downtown hotels. It was probably cheap (maybe included in my room package?) so maybe a good alternative if you are low on deviation bank $$.

Thank you all for the info. I'm deadheading from east coast US to AKL. I thought I might stop in SYD for a break.

The taxi queue can be long. I recommend the train to Circular Quay. I think it is only 3 or 4 stops from airport. Can catch the train in the terminal and the station is about 150 yards from the hotel. Totally painless.
