Default UPS recalls update?

I was just wondering if anyone has any info on recalls. Are there any classes scheduled? Is there any hope for hiring off the street in the foreseeable future?

No, no and not likely. Open time pigs are back at the trough with the blessing of the IPA on the backs of 40 some guys still on the street. Won't surprise me a bit to see them cut again after peak.

No classes announced since the June 18th class. Only one class has been announced since the repeal of the open time ban go figure.

Its election time for the President and Secretary, so the Executive Board needs to keep the Hogs who feed at the open time trough content. There are many more open time Hogs than furloughee's so it appears the open time spigot will remain wide open. Its amazing the chaos the open time pickup is causing UPS scheduling - NOT.

Recalls may start up again in the spring of 2013, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

Onstep, you called it correctly. The elections are around the corner and these guys want another term in office. That and they are dealing in back room deals with the company which is maddening!

How can there not be any growth from the TNT deal? Unless, they will be flying the UPS freight.....there should be some growth, right!

Very unlikely for the balance of the year. Hiring will only be driven by the regulation changes that have been proposed.
The TNT freight/packages will just go on bigger airplanes which will not create more jobs, remember that more volume doesn't mean more seats. It may actually mean fewer seats as they put a bigger airplane on a run and combine two cities and go from two small airplanes to one bigger airplane that makes two stops, the 757 is a small airplane in our fleet.
UPS is revising the network, we saw a pull down on the RFD hub operations on the schedule bid that is currently available , reducing flying.UPS has spare 757's stacked around the system that are under utilized due to the network modifications that are being implemented. There is also a reduction in international flight hours on the pac rim .
None of the people commenting on the open time /ja ban situation have obviously spoken to the IPA office or the EB directly. As to the comments on politics its just a few guys making noise with no knowledge.
The IPA works every day to convince the company to recall our laid off pilots.

Must be nice to be omnipotent. Give me a break. I have spoken to a member of the EB and it was like listening to the IPNN. Politics aren't reserved for Obama and Romney. There's plenty of it going on between the EB and UPS.

Oh....and wait for it........can you see the chaos start when the open time ban is switched on in bid 12-07 during peak? Wow that was unpredictable.

Remember to report management flying

Back to my foreclosure.....

Omnipotent not really. Just can tell that you either didn't call or didn't listen to what the EB member was saying. You may not have liked being told the truth about your recall potential.
I personally doubt that we will institute the OT/JA ban for peak because like you the company is thinking that we will.
We cannot force UPS to recall. UPS hasn't gotten close to the schedule maximization allowed in the contract.

This UPS dump is NOT FDX. We didn't start in the Mid 70's. We have a Very, very young Pilot Group. We will lose like 30 pilots next year to Retirement. FDX loses like 30 a Month!

I see Hiring next Spring. If you really want to force Hiring there are other ways.

Trip-rig change to 3.5-1, Hard Construction Caps on Lines (75-77), FDX Deadhead Policy would force the company to Hire 150 over night., etc.

And upgrades here to be bottom whale scum Captain in ANC will soon be 14-16 years minimum.

Actually, here at FDX I'm looking at 12 years to narrow body PIC, 14 to wide body. It's the new normal.
