My point exactly!

You may have a point in some cases.

But most FO's are not like that. Really.

We've just been watching this thread without any comment at all.

The simple truth is that "professional captains" don't have this problem.

At a previous co., a friend of mine calmly asked the capt to take VHF 1. He then got an ARINC patch to the CP's office and lt them know that they needed to start work on getting a replacement FO to his destination. After terminating the phone patch, he simply told the Capt., I have #1. Beautiful.

You ever stop and think that not one "FO" got here without a ton of Captain time? Your post leads me to believe you have no FAR 121 Captain time. We all occasionally fly with a wanker, and like it or not we have to figure out a way to deal with them without compromising safety. As a Captain it is easy to deal with someone, as an FO it takes far more finesse.

Keep the voice recorder on the phone handy and ready to record, just the act of hitting record will probably shut him up, if not (and he is a non-union guy) get removed from the trip and play it for the Fleet Captain and DO. They pay us to do a job and the roles are very well defined to prevent just this kind of unsafe crap from happening. But what do I know, I'm just an FO.......

You've posted 7 times and six of them are about grammar and punctuation.

And you were hired to the left seat evidentially.

I know that, like all of our First Officers, I was not a professional until I was chosen to become a Captain. Now, like all of our extraordinary Captains, I am the consummate professional. I really love flying with and learning from me.

Just say "You're into a freaky power trip which I'm havin a hard time diggin" (borrowed from a Doonsebury strip from the early 70's)

The whole exchange:

Rufus: Hey you! With the weird helmet! Where'd you come from?
Zonker: How do, cap'n america! My names Zonker...coach says im playing uptight end for you. Ol zonker's got the most crazy far out hands in the country. They're just HEEWACK too far out!
Rufus: Ok weirdo, stand forward. Lets see how you handle the ball.
Zonker: Negative, captain america sire! You're into a freaky power trip which I'm havin a hard time diggin'
Rufus: ...what'd he just say?
Lineman: "no."
