Yup, I called planning, left a message and 10 mins later, all R days were dropped.
Wonder what would have happened if I didn't call? I'm sure they would have left those R days on there.
Thx guys!

They would have apologized and given you a custom line working R days from 20 to 30 Dec.

So, everyone will be done manually? Late tonight?

Now, when you say everyone...Is that just reserve guys, or all of us?

LeftCoast:

Glad it worked out as it should have contractually.

FYI You would have been royally screwed (ie, working) in the same situation (regardless wether you had a single departure line or R days) under any PBS system. Keep that in mind if the subject ever comes up with your rep or another pilot.

instead of being a reserve he will build a custom VTO ,out of seniority order, and the poor sap senior to him that bid vto will get stuck with the holiday trip or RA left over for his line but that is the system we have...just saying.

Or if he is smart, he will leave his calendar open for draft.

maybe the guy/gal who got the R-days dropped for training was the SENIOR one and exercised HIS/HER seniority to bid Reserve and also HIS/HER seniority to bid for a training slot that they knew would split their block - knowing that it would drop all their R-days?

and the JUNIOR guy ("poor sap" as you called them) was the guy/gal who's seniority could only hold a Secondary Line?

so, maybe, nothing "out of seniority order" occurred......

why is it assumed that someone bidding Reserve is always "junior" to anyone/everyone? never a$$-u-me.....just sayin'
