FDX Contract Openers
Company has posted their opening proposal on the website.
Heavy push for PBS. I'm not impressed.
No pay for 3 and 3 unless you make a significant effort to remain current - I don't think so, try again.
Explore "cruise pilot" - I don't think so, try again.

Cruise pilot concept...Danger Will Robinson!! PIBS is most likely a wolf wrapped in sheeps clothing. I'm willing to listen and perhaps entertain the idea, but the language and parameters would have to be snare drum tight. and that's probably not possible.

Does PIBS = PBS (Preferential Bidding System)??? OK. I just read the letter at the end of the document. PIBS is Pilot Interactive Bidding System. Wow!! That sure sounds like an upgrade, doesn't it? They even compare it to getting an iPhone 5 as opposed to the old bag phones. Call me cynical.
Automatic "NO" vote from me----no matter what other carrots they throw in there.
We must show solidarity against this huge "power/quality of life" grab.

There is a letter at the end of the document that explains (in the company lexicon) why PIBS is different than PBS. I said I would listen and entertain, but my starting point (NO) is the same as yours.

What a steaming pile of ****. This is where we got in two years? PBS and provisions for non-seniority management pilots? Ask our brown brethren how thats going for them. I hope everyone is ready to do their jobs (an only their jobs) from here on out.

My last airline never put these out. The union never did either. I'm glad they did.
Anyway, no PBS. My last airline had it and it's TERRIBLE. Also under section 25 I notice they threw in : Eliminate secondary line process.
So, no more secondary lines? Just leave a bunch of open time?

Yes it is. We should throw it back at them like they did with our proposals to fix accepted fares.
Apparently it's a one way negotiation to them.
But we've got plenty of our own one ways and the company counts on them for help. If we have a 767 bid during negotiations I'm betting tons of guys will ignore everyone else and go for it.
PBS/PIBS/IncreasinglyScatologicalScheduling = No New Contract
