Don't think that is what he implied.
Probably more along the lines of they did nto put up a fight and their losses were vastly larger than the US who came over and put up a fight to save them from having to learn German.

Maybe some of you need an education about the French. Review your revolutionary war history. Without the French, we would all be drinking tea and speaking English not American. They provided the ammo, money, navy and, let's not forget, Lafayette!
Next time you are temped to say, "What have the French done for us?" Keep in mind you will sound like an idiot. We owe the French our country. It could be said the debt was paid for our help in WWII but that does not negate the INVALUABLE help we got from them in our war of independence.
