Well, I suspect a majority of the S/O will disappear because they are over 65y/o. That will make it a little easier to find a seat for the rest of the pilots on the 727,

Getting rid of the 727's would INCREASE flying in the other aircraft, wouldn't it?

Yes, but the mice must be herded to where the cat wants them.

Exactly....that would explain the hinting of excessing off of other seats....can't have every 727 guy going to the 11 when the 757 is the one taking over the flying! So they may just put a -1 on most/all seats, except the 757 of course! Talk about a huge shuffling that would create!!

A single pay rate for every Aircraft could minimize that huge crew shuffle for you guys

We don't want that - it would cause too many training cycles before it all settled out and would hurt the junior guys QOL!

Going out on a limb here, but pretty sure single pay rate would reduce WB pay and increase NB pay.

Certainly some good things about a single pay rate, but also some negative things. Having two pay rates allows some to chase the $ while other's chase QOL

Why would it reduce WB pay???

Also, with more $$$ per hour you can work less days for the QOL!

For many,

More $$$$ =/= Better QOL

but

More scheduling flexibility, better vacations, more choice of destinations and style of flying and such are more important.

Glad you're back, Daniel; long time no hear. And you're exactly right--can you say 'bump and flush'? I predict the token (-1) in all seats except MEM 757 FO, HKG, and CGN. How very special, says Church Lady.

Even when we're drafting LCAs for the MEM Airbus right seat.
