FDX: Mmmm, CO2 emissions (Homer-esque)
I've noticed recently on my travel invoices that along with my itinerary, seat assignment, meal, equipment and distance is now "CO2 emissions" in pounds. I see that I will "consume" over 1,500 pounds of CO2 on my next deadhead. Why has this been added?
I seem to recall in a version of the Cap-n-Trade bill (2009?) that did not pass that pilots would be taxed on the CO2 they "consume" going to and from work. Is this tax rearing its ugly head somewhere else soon? When I think of tax I think of the IRS which will orchestrate the ACA this October. Is this carbon tax hidden in the Affordable Care Act?

EPA's Air Pollution Target: Flatulent Cows - CBS News
"For farmers, this stinks: Belching and gaseous cows and hogs could start costing them money if the federal government decides to charge fees for air-polluting animals.
Farmers so far are turning their noses up at the notion, which they contend is a possible consequence of an Environmental Protection Agency report after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in 2007 that greenhouse gases emitted by belching and flatulence amounts to air pollution."

Which of his three Oceanside mansions do you send the check to? Or do you send it to the one in TN in case of polar ice cap melt?
