Cool trick but lately there just hasn't been anything worthwhile in the magazine... If I had to pay for a subscription it would have been canceled by now. Oh, wait I do pay for it... And it ain't cheap.

Flightdeck Pro specific questions:
Is there a way to select multiple pages of SIDs/STARs/Taxi/REF pages etc. to that category of chart's "selected" list or do you have to select each one individually?
Hopefully I'm missing something because if not, this has got to be the most cumbersome and user unfriendly process I've encountered so far. If you have, say, multiple airport reference pages you want to read through, it appears one must select each page individually from the list. Once more than one is selected, the list defaults to the "selected" list requiring re-selection of the "all" list to continue to select desired pages. Previously selected pages still appear on the "all" list so you must memorize what has been selected so far to avoid re-selecting the same page.
One you have the desired pages selected, they appear in the order they were selected. You have the option to "edit" your list and re-order them (for example 20-9, 20-9A, 20-9B). However, once you begin actually viewing them, they re-order themselves with the most recently viewed at the bottom of the list (so the point of the edit option is......).
As an example, Singapore has 33 pages available to select under the "taxi" list. Trying to select the ones that may be relevant requires you to look at each page which involves going through the above selection process potentially once per page. Once you have a selected list, you have to individually select each one to view and there's no "next" option. You have to go back to the selected list (which just re-ordered itself after your last view) and figure out which page to look at next.
I've looked through the "options" and "settings" and I don't see anything that makes this any easier. Like I said, hopefully, I'm just missing something but if not, this is ridiculous. Does anyone have a better way to deal with this?
I got to use the iPad as primary tonight, as the mounting hardware was aboard the airplane. Two lessons learned:
1) At first glance, it appears that you can insert your iPad in either direction. Alas, that is not the case. Put it in backwards and you cannot reach the volume toggle. Put it in top first to access all the buttons. If in doubt, look at the hole in the back for the camera. (Why do we need to use the camera? Better still, why would I want to use the volume control?)
2) When I want to turn the EFB screen off so it's not distracting me with glare, I push a button. When I want to look at it again, I push the same button again. The iPad, even in night mode at the dimmest setting, can be distracting. It's easy enough to turn it off by pressing the button on the top, but in order to get it back on, I have to press the button on the bottom of the screen, and then enter a 4-digit password! Any ideas for workarounds short of disabling the password?

I want to toss in my recommendation for a free iPad app called Web To PDF. The free version has a web browser that will access your FlightPlan on P.F.C. When you Select Print on the Release, it formats the items you've selected (Release, Weather, Route Plot, NAT Tracks, etc.) and gives you the option to convert to PDF. You can then view the PDF, and you have the option to open the PDF in other apps (like Adobe Reader, another FREE app, where you can save it with a unique name, and file it away in a folder-style fashion).
In its PDF form, you can easily copy the flight plan "strip" and paste it in Jeppesen FD Pro.
I've been using it the past 2 weeks without a hitch. Works good, lasts long time. Price is right.

Agreed, 100%.

Did you try the night theme in FD-Pro? There are no general dimming apps on non-jailbroken devices. For anyone that is reading and has a jailbroken device, f.lux from Cydia is very nice, but since it accesses low level system variables, I doubt Apple will ever approve anything like it for the App Store.
There are some browsers that also use a warmer night theme (Night Web Browser by Alex) and some of the reader apps have warmer themes. Finally, you can go to Settings|General|Accessibility and select Invert Colors to On. This biggest effect is it swaps white and black. While the brightness values don't technically change, the smaller fields of white are less annoying.
It would be nice if FD-Pro offered a couple of different themes with a warmer white to cut down the glare.

Probably the best you could do is lengthen the time required before asking for the pin again.
Settings -> General -> Passcode Lock From there change the "Require Passcode" time to 15 minutes.
Thanks for the PDF conversion tip...

Still have to do the "Slide to Unlock" deal, but that's simple enough to not distract from flying an airplane, and it can even be done in turbulence.
Gracias!

Another question:
Since the provided Jeppesen-embossed leather case is not integral to the mounting system in the airplane, and I'll have to snap it out of that case every time I want to use it in the airplane mount anyway, and since the case is bulky and tricky to slide in and out of a bag or backpack ...
I'm interested in getting a clamshell-type cover which incorporates a bluetooth keyboard, something like this:
Any recommendations? Experiences, good or bad?
Thoughts on bluetooth in the cockpit?
