Ownship display for taxi
From the latest iPad Czar email:
Jeppesen FliteDeck Pro 2.1 for iPad:
3) The preview references the ability for Ownship to be displayed on an approach chart. This is still prohibited by the FAA for Part 121 operations. Ownship can only be used during taxi.
I thought any use of ownship display was prohibited (FOM 2.125)
Has this guy been taking email lessons from GR?

The banned apps are in the the FedEx App Catalog App. Launch the app, then hit the "X" at the top of the page.

I'm not using the I-pad mount on the EFB. What I am doing is loading the EFB's with the airports needed and then only using it for the taxi charts. I load the I-Pad and use it for everything else. I stow the I-pad in my briefcase for t/o and landing, never taking it out of the company Jepp case. This allows me to use the EFB taxi chart while being able to ref the I-pad for SID questions on taxi out. Doing this on arrival allows me to put the I-pad next to the FMS when loading the STAR restrictions and estimate a taxi in plan for the runway I've loaded. I do drape the I-pad over the EFB when the taxi charts are not needed.
