Thanks, Rocket. A reasonable assumption, but actually I work for ABX. Speaking of which, I'm trying to compare contracts. Given present contracts, the basic pay is a wash but I'm concerned about retirement. I only have 12 years to go and I would have a 20 year retirement if I stay put. As far as I can tell the UPS plan is better overall but I'm not sure how much of the difference it might make up. Any insights?

Compensation is not my major issue as I consider this. I'm looking for some QOL improvements that are unique to my situation, so I am interested in the move even if it means less total compensation. But I obviously have to give retirement some consideration.

Can you confirm or deny that they're focusing on hiring guys with heavy experience right now? I ask because I'm a high time fighter guy w/no heavy experience. I've had an app in for a while and have a rec but it appears that heavy dudes are getting the call really quickly for UPS right now and I havn't heard a thing.

Through the grapvine I've also heard that they're going after heavy drivers only (KC/DC-10/11 dudes especially) right now.

UPS does a good job of hiring from all backgrounds and you are competing against guys with a similar background as yours. But what do I know I came from tankers.
