UPS Hiring in the New Year

Another consideration now that the furlough cat is out of the bag, you could have several years longevity and still face that possibility since there are no big years of hiring.

With all the retirements and movement at the legacies, I would have to think UPS would be well down the list if given a choice.

while many would love to work for UPS, and why wouldn't they, good pay and probably the same challenges/gripes at any job, the key variable is they have to resume hiring.
Until that happens, in my opinion it is silly to play the fantasy-airline-hiring game or make-a-wish

Ask the guys who have been furloughed for 3.5 years how that pay is working out. That's my point, is it worth being in the bottom 1% for 7+ years as opposed to going to a legacy and moving up 30-40% in the same timeframe? You're an '05 hire so it's not something you would understand; commuting to ANC to sit reserve for that long and always be on the hook for a furlough.

I never said I'd turn it down for a Caravan gig. Would I give up my seniority number for a couple select airlines of my choice???? You bet your a@% I would.
I just don't see much of a career here for someone younger than me and just getting a seniority number. Even if someone is younger than me with a seniority number within 300 of me I think they would be crazy to not leave this place for Delta or someplace with retirements.
UPS is shrinking and has no retirements. Not a place to call a destination.

shack. sure many will apply, some would even take the job, however being domiciled in ANC, furloughs regardless of whether the company is making billions, and currently almost two decades to lower 48 captain will ensure those with the best opportunities go elsewhere.
