FDX: Tmobile vs. ATT
I've seen seen the tmobile ads lately that offer free international data (and calling at a lower rate). Does anyone have any experience with tmobile??
Also, do we get a fedex discount??

I had T-Mobile several years ago, probably because we got a discount with them. Their Customer Service was consistently good. I had good domestic service. I also like their "evening/weekend" free (included!) hours better than the hours I have now with Verizon.
Are they still a subsidiary of Deutshe Telecom? I can remember having pretty good coverage in Europe ... almost none at all in Asia (this was all before 3G/4G coverage)

I switched from ATT to T-Mobile a few months back. They do offer FedEx discounts. The biggest reason I switched was due to cost. I have 5 iPhones on my plan with unlimited calling, unlimited text, 500MB high speed data per phone, and international text/data, typically .20 cents a minute for international calling......my total Tmobile bill is now $135 per month (ATT bill was $290 for less.)
A few other observations after 3 months use:
1. Customer service has been excellent
2. I've used Tmobile now in South America, Europe, and Africa and have had good service. All the places in the US that FedEx goes has excellent coverage and LTE data speeds.
3. They are very aggressive right now trying to get new customers. The sales guy I used down here in Destin, FL (Nick Wood (850) 376-5011) gave me $100 per line I brought to him($500), and said if I'm still with him at the 5 month point, he will give another $100 per line (another $500.)
4. The sales rep also bought me out of the remaining ATT contract, which was an additional $225.
5. No contract at all, so I can leave at any time.
The bad:
1. You need to bring your own Unlocked phone with you.....or you need to buy a new phone from Tmobile at the unsubsidized rate. I used 2 unlocked phones I had on ATT and bought 3 new iPhones at Tmobile.
Overall, I have been pleased with the quality and price of Tmobile.
I hope this helps.

All very good info, thanks!
Right now, ATT is offering deals to try and lure away Tmobile's customers. Many sites say that Tmobile will do the same later this week.
I am not completely unhappy with ATT, but I've been paying over $200/month for three iphones. Tmobile is offering the same plan for $110 (with international data and .20/minute international calls). Part of the ATT monthly rate are the phone subsidies that most of us receive when getting a new smartphone. Tmobile doesn't subsidize phones (thus no contract) and you pay less per month.
I've heard Tmobile is planning on countering ATT's deal and will offer a plan to help pay early termination of contracts. Sounds like EMKflyer has made a pretty good deal...
I like the free international data and lower international call rates, although I almost always use skype. I'm going to see what Tmobile offers and drop by the Tmobile store. I'm really tired of paying over $200/month for cell phones!

Been a sprint customer since 1999. They have had a spotty history and coverage has been less than the competition, all predicated on where you live.
Softbank of Japan has bought a majority share of sprint and has infused a ton of cash to build out their 4G LTE network. I have noticed a difference where I live, and all around the country.
With the corp discount of 23% I pay $202 per month (including all tax & fees) for 4 lines, unlimited data, text & talk.
They are CDMA so unless the phone you buy is dual mode (GSM/CDMA) international coverage can be limited. Japan/China/Korea ok, Europe not so much. Wifi is so common wherever we layover internationally that having limited cell phone connectivity has not been a problem. Skype calls on wifi from the lobby of the ITC in Delhi sound like calling next door.

I was an ATT customer. Now a Tmobile customer. I am writing this while international roaming data on my iPhone and not paying any roaming charges. I still can't believe that I'm not paying international roaming data charges.
