18 UPS Recalls in MARCH!

I don't doubt for a minute the hardships UPS puts it's pilot though. Keep in mind that at least 400 World pilots are on the street, Evergreen shut down, ABX and ATI have pilots on furlough and there are thousands of RJ pilots who have suffered too. To these guys, UPS doesn't look half bad. It's all in the perspective.

I have. And may I suggest you switch to decaf?
Just a simple statement of hope for the future. Very happy for those who have been out for so long finally being or about to be recalled. It's movement in the proper direction for a change, even though it has very little impact on me personally.

The thing about UPS is that they were burned. Those being recalled won't be furloughed again (knock on wood!). They won't recall or hire until absolutely necessary and we've hit that point. It's been 7 years since we hired a new pilot.
The darkest days are behind us. Now the worst part of the job will be the cry baby whiners like Frontseat. I've said it before but will do so again, if the job sucks and you're miserable...LEAVE! United, Delta, American and others are all hiring.
Overall it's a great job. Not perfect, but one of the best anywhere. The single pay scale is great so you can bid what you want rather than chasing the pay rates. I hate two week Asia trips and will bid night sort flying. Others love the 3-4 weeks off in a row they often get being intl and abhor sitting the sort.

Don't underestimate yourself. It sucks to fly with a guy who complains about his life for hours on end. Thankfully very few of us are like that. Sure, there are universal complaints at UPS; NURPS, schedules, catering etc, but you'll go nuts if it consumes you.
I like my job and the people with whom I fly. I do the job, vote in elections, and follow the IPA guidance. I don't rip the IPA and my union brothers the way Frontseat does and I wouldn't post his name on a forum either.

I had to come out of my self imposed retirement from this site to address this! What Fantasy World do you live in? Let me take a pin and pop this balloon your floating around in and drop you into a pool of reality!
For me the worst part of the job is worrying about a uncontrolled fire that I can't do anything about, which is due to lack of accountability of the $hit that I am hauling around the four corners of the world.
Next I would say is the fact for almost 4 years we have had 109 colleagues out on a furlough while this company continues to make obscene profits. The last 44 of which at the most cost 8 million a year to bring back while they paid "$185M of cost pressures and refunds associated with much stronger peak season vols" in the past quarter. Management at its best!
Hiring Managers while our guys are out pi$$es me off next.
After that, I would say the fact that they use our contract as toilet paper, where at every turn they find new creative ways to violate our CBA.
When we are done with that I would say spending 18 days out of 28 away from home to work a 75 hour line. I know I don't have to commute to work as some would say but when 80% of our pilots are commuters I really don't want to hear it.
How many more do you want me to list? I have at least a dozen more "worst parts of this job"to list and the guys that whine are not one of them!
Check yourself before you step on your crank on here or on the B&G.
