Default FDX Disputed Pairings - March 2014

I almost shed a tear when I checked the DP's for March.

Every single Cap and FO slot for the 5 - B777 DPs for the month of March are still Open!

Great job sending the message that we want to avoid flying these onerous pairings.

Now we'll see how we do when open time is released tomorrow.. But so far.. Nice job!

Maybe the message is getting through to the crew members.

I heard on another thread that some fatigue calls (over 10) in CGN got the company to change some of the DPs out there. I wonder if our 777 crew members would choose to not fly fatigued… I wonder.. Maybe some of these types of pairings would stop being published.. hmm…

In Unity and Safety!

I hold no great hope when open time is released.

I hope the Memphis group grows the balls to call fatigued when they are, in fact, fatigued.

Remember - Just because you picked up a trip voluntarily, it doesn't make you any more immune to the effects of fatigue. I've heard of managers saying you shouldn't have picked it up if you can't handle it.

Sometimes a trip looks not too bad on paper but ends up kicking your butt in reality. Fatigue is Fatigue.

So 12 hours after open time has been released..

4 out of 5 in each seat are still open.

Not perfect, but a definite improvement!

Fly Safe! Don't fly Fatigued.. And if you find yourself fatigued.. Make the Call!

Remember, we must all keep SAFETY in the forefront of our minds in all flight operations.
