I thought the lost profit was because of our mini snacks.

Profit Actually increases yet the stock goes down, because it didn't meet some eggheads "expectations" based upon previous conditions.
Yes, because that "egghead" bought the stock expecting a certain amount of return on the guidance the company put out as expectations for the quarter and year. Since the company says that was inaccurate, and profit will be less, those investors decided they did not like the new projections and sold their share.

No harm, no foul, the way it is.

Default International Herald Tribune

12/21/2006 Article Headline: "FedEx profit rises on fuel surcharge and demand."

Interestingly, no mention of "those greedy pilots." Hmmmm ...

We are in the wrong business, for sure! Did you guys read about those wall streeters who are getting their Christmas bonuses. Many in the multi-million dollar range, with a few of the CEOs of the big firms getting upwards of 50 Million Dollars each. I guess I just don't get that. Why wouldn't the vast majority of that money be funneled back to the stockholders of those firms, in the form of dividends. I'm not especially keen on Japan, but I do like the way their senior corporate executives are limited in total income to a percentage of what the lowest person in the firm makes. That way, if a company over there is having a great year, everyone must share in the profits, in order for the top brass to make more than the year before. The way we do it here does nothing but increase the divide between the wealthy and the middle class. And if you've not noticed, we, as airline pilots, are becoming more middle class all the time.

Most of the money-centric contract improvements haven't even taken place yet (trip rig, etc...)

From what I understand there was about 100 mill plus in initial funding that had to be paid for up front.

Much of the Big scheduling optimization (in order for the Company to recoup any pay raise we will receive) hasn't begun yet either. But it is about to start.

Fec.....I agree. True or not, why must we have the love of the people?

If it is reality, which can be debated 'till the cows come home, it is but one piece of a large puzzle.........but again, who cares????
