Profit Actually increases yet the stock goes down, because it didn't meet some eggheads "expectations" based upon previous conditions.
No harm, no foul, the way it is.

We are in the wrong business, for sure! Did you guys read about those wall streeters who are getting their Christmas bonuses. Many in the multi-million dollar range, with a few of the CEOs of the big firms getting upwards of 50 Million Dollars each. I guess I just don't get that. Why wouldn't the vast majority of that money be funneled back to the stockholders of those firms, in the form of dividends. I'm not especially keen on Japan, but I do like the way their senior corporate executives are limited in total income to a percentage of what the lowest person in the firm makes. That way, if a company over there is having a great year, everyone must share in the profits, in order for the top brass to make more than the year before. The way we do it here does nothing but increase the divide between the wealthy and the middle class. And if you've not noticed, we, as airline pilots, are becoming more middle class all the time.

Guys, why you getting so worked up. I don't think anybody really cares about our contract. It's a price of doing business and the reality is that all the initial costs of the contract probably did cause a dip in the earnings. So what, who gives a sh1t. I really don't think Fred or anybody in that line does. And I don't think they really blamed anybody, just stating the reality. Tony????
If it is reality, which can be debated 'till the cows come home, it is but one piece of a large puzzle.........but again, who cares????
