UPS to hire 40 pilots
#271
FQS refers to flight qualified supervisors...ups is interviewing for both line positions and fqs positions...
there are numerous threads on FQS at ups...they are not looked upon highly and are NOT a part of the union...they can fly to the far limits and answer to the company 24/7
JTF

Historically, you don't bid your position but I believe they ask your preference. I preferred not to go to ANC as a new hire, but 6 of us got assigned it and the rest of my class was scattered between ONT, SDF, and 1 even went to MIA where he lived. At the time they just began targeting heavy guys and those of us who fit that description got shipped to the great white north. Most of the former regional and fighter guys went to the 757/767 while the heavy military and former wide body pilots went to ANC. Abviously no one knows UPS' plans (not even manpower planning) as of yet. A bid is closing in a couple of weeks, perhaps we'll learn the vacancies after that.
Good luck!

We were all displaced to ANC about a year and a half after we were hired. A few guys have bid back to the lower 48, but most have stayed on the 747-400 in ANC (better schedules/more time off).

I hope its not 3 days. I didn't apply for the FQS, just line FO. So what is the quickest way to ONT? 7576? How does one choose out of indoc? High/Low SSN? Age?
