I think internal recs are done online by current pilots.

My opinion on hiring:

The last hiring wave (2004-2007) was all about growth. When the wheels started coming off the track in DEC 2007 with age 65 we began the massive backwards slide culminating in the nasty furlough of 109 IPA brothers and sisters.

Although we don't know much about this current round of hiring, one thing is for certain, retirements are taking place at a rate of around 40 per year (and increasing significantly in about 3 years from now) for an indefinite period of time. So a new hire now shouldn't have to spend 7 years on the bottom of the list like a pilot hired in 2007.

Any amount of growth would be very fortunate for us all, but that is nothing but rumors, and the first thing one needs to learn at UPS is EXPECTATION ZERO!

Good luck to those applying!

I have six LOR's but my application says "on file" not "active", like those getting the assessment test or the call. I don't know how much good they are going to do me. 5800TT, 1500TPIC, 5000 transport category multi w/ bachelor's degree.

Default UPS to hire 40 pilots

My app says "active" on mobile and classic view. Is that a good thing? A friend said his reads "on file." Is there a consensus yet? Thanks!

Not sure I agree with you on this one. I was in the first group to be furloughed. Never once did I hear my group blame senior pilots. It was quite the opposite. The membership came together and offered UPS 117 million in concessions to save our jobs. The sacrifices the members made to help fellow union pilots was unbelievable. That would never have happened at other airlines. The vast majority of the furloughed pilots will be forever grateful for the support shown to us by the IPA and the membership.

Just got off the phone with HR and confirmed travel (self help) from Dubai to JFK then allowed to jumpseat as Psix (whatever that means) to Louisville.

Can a UPS guy help with the P6? What is it and can I get bumped?

Many thanks!

UPS pilot who jumpseat on UPS are P7. P6 is one level higher. You won't get bumped.

Worldly,

Are you applying for a line position or mgmnt position? Curious because priority 6 jumpseat is used by mgmt on company business.
