It looks like from the numbers that there will be good movement with Brown over the next 10 years if the hiring matches retirements...

LAst person who left SW for UPS was furloughed for about 4 years. Movement at UPS will not be any better than SW over the next 8 years or so.
Training/hotel are paid. First year pay is about 40K. Training will likely be in SDF or ANC but could be contracted somewhere else.

I don't know if anybody noticed, but in UPS's NTSB filings, it noted that the AVG captain makes $290,000, and the AVG F/O makes $190,000 at UPS. For those UPSers who said I was wrong that I could make $200,000 in Year 5, I think you're wrong. I just talked to a bottom feeder F/O who made $210,000 flying international in '13. The *****ing on this board is legendary, and even when seeking raw facts it's sometimes futile.
On a side note, UPS also stated in their NTSB filing that:• UPS also builds our flight schedules to minimize fatigue.
As a base line trip holder, all I can say is they are full of ****!
Please don't believe everything you read from these fools.
And I fly over 30 hours a month!!!!!!!!!!

I have only flew for military and government. Reading all these forums it's hard to decide if it's better to go to a legacy or wait for UPS/FedEx. With all the retirements at the legacies it would be a lot quicker upgrade. Looking at the pay charts seems that the pay would average out over time (longer upgrade at UPS/FedEx). Can anyone shed some light on contracts/QOL/benefits. My ultimate goal is to have more time off and better economic future for family. Working 40hrs/week and being capped in pay as a GS is getting old quick.

Take the first job offer and class date that is available.
If it is not your dream job, then repeat process.
Read airlinepilotcentral.com for pay/benefits.
QOL is subjective, but if you want max schedule flexibility, UPS is not the place.
