Correct.
Overheard an ACP (yes, I know :/) mention the following class dates to an Airbus captain.
June 23 - 12 (SDF/A300)
July 22 - 14 (?)
August 19 - 14 (?)
Stiff competition for the 40 slots.
As of last week there are 4500+ applications and 900+ referrals.

From UPS Chief Pilot:
"Of the 12 new crewmembers, the average flight time is 4,921 hours. Their average age is 41 years old. They all have completed their Bachelors of Science, while four have their Master’s Degree."
Other: Age range: 28-53. Background: Regional, Heavy, lots of Military

At this rate we have 112 applications for every one slot out of 40.
Still wondering about that pilot shortage....

Wait a minute here...... Are you saying that they have an unfair advantage? Is there a reason that decided not to go that route to gain your education or experience? They chose that path and it lead them to here. You chose your path and it led you to.......whatever rock you just climbed out from under. Maybe I am wrong but I am getting the feeling that you would be happier if their path had led them to a flag draped casket?

I suggest you come down to San Antonio and visit the "wounded warrior" ward at Fort Sam Houston . You can tell those heroes just how " nice" it was to for Uncle Sam to pay for their education .
