Yes. I have always wondered why the IPA doesn't or didn't go through the Courts to challenge the NURPS??? And the IPA has never came out with a reason to the membership. I assume B. Trent is lacking confidence in his area.

The IPA should go to a Labor Court in Wash. D.C. Present your argument to the Labor Court Judge. UPS does the same. 6 months or so later the Judge gives his ruling. Simple.

We have a Closed shop in KY. The NURPS are not managers. They can not discipline. They can not Hire or Fire anyone. They are doing the Closed shop Association members Jobs. We had Members on Furlough with them doing the Jobs of the members. No other Part 121 Airline operates this way. etc.

Simple and Final. If we lose, we are where we are now.

The Card thing was the wrong approach. I am concerned that the current membership and the EB are not more vocal with our displeasure over the continued Hiring of SCABS-

Mine is active also. Not much info from OBAP but they were telling people that they might hire again next year.

Careful now, you might get yourself kicked out of the IPA. They might tag you with a vote of no confidence were your paying dues but not being represented by the IPA. It seems as though these days the union can choose to represent you or send your case against the company to an outside agency. I have a feeling a couple of Lawsuits are coming down against the IPA filed by our own members and I think we will lose big and have to pay out the A$$. But I will stop since I am going to probably mark myself as anti-union guy by questioning what the union is doing these days.

Shaggy,

If you're talking about JH and his case, remember there is IPA on both sides of this one. Something pretty serious must have happened for this to go beyond Pro Stds and to the company...I have only heard one side (JH) of the story....

As far as BT being shown the door, if I carried concealed to the GOC and wasn't in uniform (as an FFDO) to meet with bigwigs from ATL and they saw my pistol, the LEAST I would expect is to lose my IPA position. He is lucky he wasn't fired.

I did not receive any email. My application still shows active. Did anyone of you that signed up for text message alerts receive a message saying the position was filled?

I am talking about both cases out there right now. You can't say we are not defending members in Good standing if you don't see eye to eye with someone. You have a legal responsibility to represent any member regardless of what your personal feelings are and can't simply say we are now turning your case over to an outside law firm. We will get sued we will lose and pay dearly. Huge Misstep in my opinion.
