Please don't apply if you are looking at just the money and the schedule. That seems to be a common question on here There are some negatives to flying for Kalitta.
1) Your month of work is not really in your control. (There is a push to try to keep people on their lines) If a daily changing schedule bothers you, please do not apply. We have a saying here, that after looking at your schedule, you tell a love one where to meet you as you travel the world, it will be the one place you will not be at the appointed time.
2) If you cannot handle sleeping at odd hours or sleeping on an airplane. You will suffer physically.
3) If it bothers you to go to airports that you have never heard of in countries you did not really know existed, under an ATC system that does not control your altitude and provide vectors the entire way to the ground, or if micro managing controllers with foreign accents, (Delhi).
4) If it bothers you to fly war munitions and supplies around. (Actually had an FO complain about supporting a war)
5) If you are addicted to your cell phone and have to constantly be taking selfies and tracking your next flight on Facebook while taxiing around in the airplane.
6) Are bothered by an operation that is experiencing growing pains as it tries to double. This results in an even more inefficient operation than in the past. (which tends to benefit the pilots pay wise). You are NEVER going to come here and tell Mr. Kalitta how to run his airline. Embrace the chaos and treat every flight as though it is the first time the airline has done this flight, and you will be forever happy here. Get frustrated with what, at your level, you perceive to be wrong, but legal, and you will drive yourself crazy.
The above are just some of the complaints from our newer pilots and things that I have observed.
Apply if you,
1) Want to fly well maintained aircraft operated by very good crewmembers, who will mentor you and have your back when needed.
2) Fly to places in the world you didn't even know existed.
3) Want to never again ever have to worry about commuting to work and get paid both salary and perdiem to fly to and from work, while collecting the airline and hotel points most of the time.
4) Want top notch medical at low prices.
5) In a few years once the growth stops and the company catches up to itself, you will go back to min guarantee and slightly above months. This will result in you flying maybe 8 days out of 16 instead of 12 to 13 now. Those extra days will be spent on occasion in places such as Hong Kong, Paris, Honolulu, Leipzig, Amsterdam.
We need pilots, but please know what you are getting yourself into. Nothing worse than having to listen to a pilot whine about the things listed above.

And the simple math of it is.... we aren't hiring 15...20..or 30 pilots a month. Generally we have been hiring 8 Newhire pilots each month... there might have been one month this year where we started two classes in the same month... so... with yes..probably hundreds of qualified guys/gals with resumes and applications in and only hiring 8 a month.. it might be awhile. I will say this ....IF you have prior heavy international time you MIGHT... get a quicker call but even thats not a guarantee. Bottom line.. right now they will be picky... until they can't be..

Yeah, I see what you are saying. I heard rumor over 1,000 apps went in after the new contract was signed. I applied immediately after that was signed as well back around January 1st.

I was asked by the interview folks to pass along some information.
The ADP web portal that we use for electronic resumes does not allow for updates, as many of you already know. The pool of qualified applicants is getting a bit shallow, thanks to the lack of updates. If any of you want to update your qualifications, please email updated resumes to [email protected].
This has been a public service announcement.
Good luck..
