The story we were told here at Indy is that he stepped under the main deck loader to put the locks down on the next can and the loader somehow lost hydraulic power and came down on top of him. I never step under the loader for any reason. Condolences to his friends and family.
I work the night sort here at the Indy hub and it literally scares the daylights out of me. If you let your guard down, you will get hurt. Just last week a fuel truck hit an Operations Manager and almost killed him. They got our tugs governed so slow it takes 20 minutes to get from the slide to our aircraft, yet people still manage to run over all kinds of stuff. I'm not sure if a vest would help or not, but the dark blue shirts are a stupid idea imho.

I don't know anything about 757 loading procedures, I'm on the Airbus. What I know is what I was told by my ramp agent. They gave us all the details of his injuries, but I won't go into that on here. This job can be dangerous at times, mostly due to people just being in too big a hurry, but I like it here. I've had a few close calls myself, but so far only a few bruises. I'm an A&P but I work at Fedex part time as a material handler while I wait for my chance to get into mx here.
