FedEx and UPS Scope
Friends from UPS and FedEx were talking about the scope clauses in their contracts. The UPSer claimed their "ten can" limit is industry leading, but my FedEx buddy claims that if the box says "FedEx" on it, it's on a FedEx owned aircraft. (peak excluded) Who has the better Scope?

FedEx scope is that any aircraft over 60,000 pounds max gross takeoff weight will be flown by pilots on the master seniority list.
Many of our packages are moved by contract companies flying FedEx owned feeder aircraft. Those pilots work for the contract company, not FedEx. So although the aircraft is owned by FedEx, it isn't really part of the "scope" of the FedEx CBA with the mainline pilots. I wouldn't be surprised if there are boxes moved by other operators with their own aircraft as well.
