Yes, the fact that building in Canada, Mexico and the US puts them inside of NAFTA and therefore outside of auto quotas has nothing to with it. The fact that hand assembling wire harnesses in Mexico is cheaper and that building for the stds of the US mkt is easier to do in here than in Germany is immaterial too.

So just ignore them and pretend like they don't exist? I don't see a problem with a non combative discussion on said subject matter.

Far more interesting is the conversation that is the opposite of politics, although it is not often indulged in by most of us. The opposite of politics laughs at the entire theory and history fully supports the humor.
People often make the mistake of believing politics can alter economic laws, just as some think religion can alter science.
"The figure of the doomed sinner, forced to wander without the hope of rest in death till the second coming of Christ, impressed itself upon the popular medieval imagination, mainly with reference to the seeming immortality of the wandering Jewish people. These two aspects of the legend are represented in the different names given to the central figure. In German-speaking countries he is referred to as "Der Ewige Jude" (the immortal, or eternal, Jew), while in Romance-speaking countries he is known as "Le Juif Errant" (the Wandering Jew) and "L'Ebreo Errante"; the English form, probably because it is derived from the French, has followed the Romance. As well as "El Judío Errante" (The Wandering Jew), he is known in Spanish as "Juan [el que] Espera a Dios", (John [who] waits for God)"
Sounds like the average airline pilot to me.

A union employee, a tea party activist, and the CEO of a multinational corporation sit down at a table that has a plate with a dozen cookies on it. The CEO immediately takes 11 of the cookies, then he turns to the tea partier and says, ‘Watch out for that union guy. He wants a piece of your cookie.’
A union employee, a tea party activist, and an IRS agent sit down at a table that has a plate with a dozen cookies on it. The IRS agent immediately takes and then squanders on wasteful programs 11 of the cookies; he then turns to the union employee and says, ‘Watch out for that tea-party guy. We've been targeting him for years and he still wants to keep his piece of a single cookie. We even wrote several million emails about it ...but we, wink-wink, "lost" them all! '

If you find yourself in a card game and don't know who the stooge is, it is you.
Many want to play the political game without understanding they will always be the losers. They meet the perfect definition of Lenin's "useful idiots", no matter which side they pick they will always lose.
The only way to win is not to play, the game is rigged, both sides lose.
Imagine the opposite of politics and begin to understand. Start thinking about the opposite of politics, stop playing the house games.
The Post isn't ever going to show you the light, nor is any other paper.
Stop playing the games you are offered and start winning.

Quite right, the OP, olly, decided to present a political view via The Post. Unions are a political instrument, but most of us have learned that politics is merely a haven for control freaks and ignore the message entirely.

You used the word "politics" six times while pointing the finger at someone else for turning this thread into something about politics. I'd point it back to you, and say that this is the "workplace" and as such the thread itself has no place on a website for and about the work of airline crew members, people who have to work in tight confines and which demands proper CRM. CRM is something that controversy can destroy.
I think you have interesting things to say, not that you need my aggrandizement.
(I have no idea what the rest of your post regarding Jewish people means)
