UPS is a great place to get a free type rating, and move on.

Whalesurfer,
Thanks for the response, there are a few ex-Delta/NW NURPS hoping our contract is signed prior to their 10 year drop dead time at DAL so they can weigh whatever options they have vis-a-vis DAL vs UPS Mgt....wouldn't be surprised if a few jump ship..

You're welcome but I'm not sure I follow? Why would nurps care about our contract and what's in it when it comes to their 10-year furlough/loa deadline at Delta?

IPA contract = NURPS future @ pay as always. With no contract and uncertainty Delta will become much more viable option.

Also if we (IPA) negotiate IPA members taking over areas that NURPS do now, like checking, the ranks and usefulness of NURPS may be in jeopardy. I can see why they're worried about an uncertain future at UPS

Just imagine if we agreed that in exchange for only IPA instructors giving sim checks, line checks, and release to the line then we would contractually allow the company to use $60k ground instructors to teach sim. Then what would the nurps have for a job description?

That's actually a great point. Perhaps that's the way for you guys to finally get that anchor removed from around your collective necks. I never understood UPS's infinity for wanting all those flight managers, with the one exception as for them to act as additional crewmembers during peak or during labor strife. Actually, that's two reasons.

UPS saying they have no intentions of furloughing anybody is as believable as Hillary Clinton saying she didn't know there was a requirement to use government cell phones for official State Department business. Does anybody really believe that nonsense?

Ups will always retain the scab force as for those 60k a year jobs ups will make new positions for the mangalers to manage those guys.
