New FCIF...AsiaOne Network Update...
Rumor going around the schoolhouse is that if you are going to HKG and have NOT started training yet, or are scheduled to start after June 1, you will be delayed until Jan, 2016.
Don't shot the messenger, I guess we will have the rest of the details by the end of the week. Just not sure which week
Also, massive new bid with 350+ new captains, in all airplanes, coming out late next week.
DO NOT GET DISTRACTED WITH ALL THE CHAOS AND CHANGES, keep your head in the cockpit!!! I hope everyone has plans to enjoy their summer vacation and spend lots of quality time with their family and friends. My MEC speaks for me. Peace out!

I do agree with you that the HKG aircraft transition was not completely thought through BUT in the companies defense (which I very rarely do) the new FAA rule change, in regards to common type rating requirements, went into effect on 3/9/15. I don't think the company could have anticipated such a drastic change from the FAA but it has thrown a huge wrench into their plans and they are having to adjust on the fly.
Reference this link, look at Pg. 2 #7, the real kicker though is #11! A 100 hrs in the 75 AND 100 hrs in the 76 all within the first 120 days for consolidation just isn't doable with our schedules, esp. if your junior!

Now the company knows how we (the pilots) feel when certain language is "interpreted" differently than the way they would like!

You can have a lean crew force....or you can have a concessionary contract. I think trying to do both is blowing up right now. The FAA just dumped a little gas on the fire removing some of the "efficiencies" the company hoped to capture with a single type.
Post MOAB training letter will be interesting. Going to take some offsite training ($$$) or putting folks on A300/MD11 (passover $$$) to make it work. Been getting beaten up on 0400 sims last two months, and that's with only the trickle of new hires rolling in...
