Can someone chime in with how it is flying the line? What do the trips look like etc. How is the moral of the pilot group.

Default Moral of the group?

The moral is; If the shoe fits, wear it?

Default Morale

Morale depends on where you sit.

747 CA; best job in the non sched world. Sit home for $8,000 a month. Average a trip every 2 months.

MD-11 last year I was gone an average of 18 days per month. Frequent 20 hour duty days, coach travel everywhere, dead head travel does not count toward limits. No extra pay for long days or 100 hour months. Average 20 hours per month in coach.

Compare our pay to Kalitta. We get paid by the day. The only extras are for staying out longer than 16 days, overtime after 20.

Skype interview is laid back with some very general HR questions. They are just trying to put a face to the resume at this point. If they like what they hear then they will invite you to the in person interview. I just completed the Skype interview and got an email invite to Miami.

Default new hires

I hear we are looking for an April 747 class and a May MD-11 class.
If you plan to interview, take a look at non radar position reports and study the Jepp legend. Also, be able to convert pounds to kilos and liters to gallons.

And know the difference between a transition altitude and a transition level.

Yall are hiring for a May class of MD-11. they are looking for 11-13 people for the class. I was invited to the interview but decided it was not the best thing for me. Best of luck to others.
