Default IBT Local 1224 v. DHL

As many are by now well aware, the most recent 1224 action message is a tightly edited re-release of previous statements opposing DHL's cynical regard for the nearly 800 U.S. pilots currently working on its behalf. If the past is any indication, both sides are digging in for what could prove to be a pivotal moment with widely cast repercussions almost a given. To that end, any useful commentary or guidance informed parties might provide with respect to the first sentence of the action message fourth paragraph would be greatly appreciated.

"The Local 1224 leadership has been researching all the legal aspects concerning DHL’s business relationships with our carriers; you will hear from President Wells on that subject."

Come on, help a slow learner. Somebody explain what President Wells could possibly be alluding to.

Just a guess, but probably foreign ownership and operational control issues would be at least part of it.

From one mushroom to another: Despite the fact that anything uttered in KCVG cafeteria will be scribbled on bathroom walls on 3 continents within 24 hours, line pilots will still be the last to know.

My guess too. Just a wag though because more than a year into 1224's present campaign, nothing more has been forthcoming.

Doll up mustard catsup freighters and hold yourself out the customer as a seamless delivery system striving to "better connect the world so as to improve the lives of people everywhere." Improvement everywhere but for the lives of aforementioned night flyers who are to be played off each other in a craven game of race to the bottom. "Single carrier you say, Mr. Mediator? Not us, no Sir...little ole contractor trying to create a few jobs."

Your dues. No less than 20 International vice presidents. Airline Division staff of 11 and their assistants. This is it? Tick tock, tick tock! Pay close attention UPS/FDX; witness an easy score long con others won't hesitate to copy if it goes their way.
